History

Performing Arts Ministry (PAM) was founded as a non-profit organization in 1989.

PAM developed out of what began as Mesmerize Improv Theatre group. As the troupe gained popularity and demand for our work grew, we incorporated into PAM to offer more diverse programming and support more artists working in spiritual settings.

Performing Arts Ministry's mission has always remained our clear focus, we are dedicated to the creative expression of spirituality through the performing arts.

Over the years PAM has included storytelling, mime, clowning, music, dance, a theatre troupe and performing arts specialists. We exist to help churches, schools and any group with a spiritual quest to incorporate the performing arts into their programs and services.

PAM is non-denominational, and as such, we have the freedom to work in any setting and explore spirituality in every creative direction. We have worked with children and parents preparing for first Eucharist, we have held celebrations of the Winter Solstice, we have sponsored May celebrations of Mary the Mother Jesus, we have led women's drum and ritual groups, we have done artist-in-residencies on Celebrating Diversity and directed theatrical productions of the Passion of Jesus.

PAM's work evolves and grows with the needs of our clients and audiences, always seeking to open minds and hearts to new, deeper spiritual experience. In every situation that we work, PAM encourages audiences to transform their world by celebrating and living social and spiritual values.
