| MINI
RETREATS (one and a half to two hours)
for parents and students are available for the
following sacraments and are led by Gabriel Ashley
Ross: First
Eucharist:
Using drama, storytelling, symbols and parent-child
activities, participants experience the past,
present and future implications of Eucharist. The
invitation to "share the bread" is given to each
child and parent.
Reconciliation:
The choice of changing a "heart of stone" to a
"heart of flesh" is the central theme of this
retreat. Parent and child activities, group prayer
and drama add to the celebration of forgiveness in
relationships.
Confirmation:
High School students and sponsors/parents discover
the challenge of living Jesus' values. Participants
are empowered to see the choice they have in
enhancing or ignoring God's creation.
The
following sessions are designed to be both retreats
and engagements and are led by Bob Gebhard.
First
Eucharist:
Breaking the Bread is the central action of
Christian faith. Using drama, story- telling,
symbols and parent-child interaction, participants
come away with hands-on experience of the power
of this meal shared as family.
Reconciliation:
Explore the meaning of the sacrament through
understanding its roots and current practice. The
word means "To Walk Back Together Again."
Participants have the opportunity to share
experiences of their journey and how that journey is
made complete though accepting and living out God's
forgiveness.
Confirmation:
Unwrap the gifts of the Holy Spirit through
participation in stories that coincide with the
gifts. Encourages sharing among the group and
fortifies the bond between sponsors and Confirmandi.
Parent
Sacramental sessions are also available for Baptism,
Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation.
