Storytelling

Robert Robert Gebhard is a storyteller for PAM. Expect to enjoy being challenged by the stories you hear. Robert delights in telling tales that ask something of his listeners, inviting them to something more. Often listeners are invited to be part of the telling, which makes the story belong to all. For example, you can journey to "Once Upon A Time..." In that time, the Kingdom comes and happily ever after is possible. An educator for 30 years, Robert Gebhard has presented storytelling programs to all ages in schools, churches, hospitals, businesses, and senior centers. With an extensive background in scripture and classical mythology, Robert adds rich elements to his craft. By combining the art of storytelling with music and the skills of an educator, Robert's stories invite people of all ages to grow on their journey. Typical performances
are between 45 minutes and an hour and can be adapted to suit your need. Bob is also available for teacher enrichment and retreats. Bob offers over 100 stories, sacred and secular, all told with love, including:

Queen Esther (Elementary-Adult)
Hear how Esther was chosen to be the wife of the King of Persia, and how her bravery saved her people from destruction. This story has it all: danger, intrigue, humor and courage. It explains the origins of the Feast of Purim (that is, the Casting of Lots) using dice to find God's answer to a question.

Zachaeus (Elementary-Adult)
Here's how the littlest man in town found the biggest heart. In intergenerational groups, Bob involves the children as assistant tax collectors to bring the message of conversion home. A
lot of fun for everyone.

Most Embarrassing Moment (Junior High - Adult)
We've all had them, those moments when we wished we could die, but somehow don't. This personal story could have happened to anyone; fortunately it did happen to Bob. A real crowd pleaser.

Chew Your Rock Candy (Preschool-Adult)
There is big trouble in town. A monster is on the loose and the only way to get rid of it is to find new ways to cooperate. This story is enjoyably involving for the whole community. The lessons it teaches are powerful and fun. This one is requested again and again.
